Farm workers in Guimba cut NPA ties

CABANATUAN CITY — Ten farm workers from Guimba’s Liga ng Manggagawang Bukid (LMB) have severed ties with a left-leaning group and pledged allegiance to the government, saying they want to concentrate on improving their families’ lives.

The LMB members from Barangay Casongsong decided on February 13, following dialogue sessions with personnel from the Nueva Ecija Police Provincial Office (NEPPO), who presented the government’s peace and development programs.

“They formally took an oath of allegiance to the Philippines and completed all required documentation,” said NEPPO Provincial Director PCOL Heryl L. Bruno.

The initiative involved coordinated efforts from various police units across Nueva Ecija to ensure the process was orderly and respectful.

Bruno said the move reflects growing confidence in government initiatives. “When people choose to stand with us, it shows they believe in a future anchored on progress and unity,” he added.

The activity forms part of the National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict (NTF-ELCAC)’s whole-of-government approach, which seeks to address the root causes of insurgency and promote inclusive development in communities.
