Ambassador of India to the Philippines His Excellency Shri Harsh Kumar Jain toured the Magnetic Resonance Imaging section of the Department of Radiology at Bulacan Medical Center on 12 February 2026.
Governor Daniel R. Fernando welcomed the ambassador, who expressed admiration for the province’s accomplishments during the governor’s tenure, particularly the installation of the first made-in-India MRI system at Bulacan Medical Center. The facility is the pioneering institution to use the advanced system.
Jain said the installation of the high-tech MRI reflects Fernando’s vision for improving health care services in the province.
He noted that the open MRI represents global collaboration, combining US technology, international certification such as USFD&C, and Indian manufacturing excellence, resulting in a technologically advanced, environmentally responsible and globally competitive product.
“As the country's first open MRI, it enhances patient comfort, reduces operational complexity, and is environmentally sustainable. It is innovation aligned with compassion, technology that serves both people and the planet,” the ambassador said.
Fernando expressed hope that the visit would further deepen ties between India and Bulacan and open new avenues for cooperation.
“With your excellency's visit to Bulacan, we wish to explore new avenues for cooperation, whether in healthcare innovation, education, cultural exchange, and infrastructure. We look forward to working closely with you and your team to further strengthen these relations,” the governor said.
The state-of-the-art open MRI unit, inaugurated in October 2025, is the first locally funded MRI installation in the country.
