The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office has conducted an inspection of the Dupinga Bridge, which serves as a key access point to the Dupinga watershed area and surrounding barangays.
During an inspection on February 11, 2026, the DPWH Nueva Ecija 2nd District Engineering Office said it is eyeing the rehabilitation of a huge hole and various cracks in part of the Dupinga Bridge.
The rehabilitation is part of the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to ensure the safety and orderly condition of all national roads and bridges in the country. Part of the directive includes the immediate deployment of a maintenance crew to install safety signages in the area.
Public Works Secretary Vince Dizon ordered the immediate implementation of traffic management in the area and coordinated with the local government to identify alternative routes for motorists.
The Dupinga Bridge, located in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, Philippines, serves as a vital infrastructure link over the Dupinga River. It is a critical transportation point for the municipality, connecting local roads and providing access to and from the surrounding areas and nearby mountain regions.
The Dupinga River, also located in Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, is a popular, crystal-clear, cold river destination flowing from the Sierra Madre mountains.
