The reward money for any information that could lead to the arrest of online sabong gambling lord Atong Ang is now P20 million.
Interior and Local Government Secretary Jonvic Remulla announced this Thursday during his press conference in Quezon City.
"We are increasing the bounty for Atong Ang to P20 million for information leading to his arrest. We’re serious here,” Remulla said, adding that the money will come from the Department and the Philippine National Police (PNP)'s intelligence/confidential funds.
“That’ll come from the confidential funds provided to the PNP and the DILG for these cases. There’s no Chippy or Piattos here,” Remulla said, referring to the names mentioned in the controversy hounding Vice President Sara Duterte’s mis-use of her intelligence fund. The bounty started from P10 million, which was put up by Remulla last year for information leading to the speedy apprehension of Ang, who is wanted by the courts in Laguna and Batangas for kidnapping charges in connection with the disappearance of at least 34 cockfighting aficionados between 2021 and 2022.
