First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos expressed confidence in the enduring relationship between the Philippines and the United States during the recent celebration of the 80 years of diplomatic ties between the two nations.

“The shared experiences, bonds, and lasting relationship that have grown stronger through the years,” Mrs. Marcos wrote on her Instagram account. “May this friendship continue to deepen and bring our nations and our peoples even closer.”

Alongside the First Lady during the celebration was President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., who also expressed confidence that the Philippines-US alliance will continue to advance with a renewed conviction and commitment.

At the ceremony, the President unveiled a special logo representing the Philippines and the US that will grace the commemorative activities throughout the year, marking the historic ties forged on 4 July 1946.

Marcos said the anniversary logo was developed to capture and symbolize the eight decades of this enduring friendship.

The 80th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries coincides with the 250th anniversary of the founding of the United States of America.
