Matteo Guidicelli’s Message After Restaurant Incident

In the wake of a frightening accident at his restaurant, Matteo Guidicelli chose compassion, gratitude, and understanding over anger and blame.

Speaking to members of the media, Matteo recalled how a vehicle unexpectedly drove into the restaurant’s outdoor dining area late Sunday afternoon, creating a moment of shock and uncertainty for everyone present.

“Very blessed kami na ’yung mga guests natin… nobody was injured,” he shared.

He explained that the restaurant had been busy earlier in the day, but most customers had already left when the incident happened—something he believes spared many from possible harm.

While no diners were hurt, Matteo revealed that two of his kitchen staff were affected while resting during their break.

“Dalawa sa staff ko ’yung natamaan. Nasa hospital pa sila but they’re okay, they’re stable,” he said.

The actor-producer emphasized that the safety and recovery of his team remain his top priority, expressing relief that both employees are now in stable condition.

Despite public curiosity, Matteo chose not to disclose the identity of the driver involved, saying he wanted to protect her privacy and that of her family.

“I can say she’s a very, very innocent lady… she admitted to her fault naman. At the end of the day, it can happen to anybody,” he explained.

For Matteo, the incident was not about assigning blame, but about acknowledging that accidents are sometimes unavoidable—and that empathy matters more in moments like these.

When asked if he planned to pursue legal action, his answer was immediate and firm.

“Wala, wala. Nag-admit naman na kasalanan ni madam. Pag-uusapan na lang with the insurance or whatsoever,” he said.

Following the accident, the restaurant’s alfresco area was temporarily closed to allow for cleanup and repairs. Matteo shared that their team is working hard to reopen soon, especially with Valentine’s Day approaching and a special menu already prepared.

More than anything, the experience left him reflective and thankful.

“Very blessed kami that God was with us… It’s a lesson for all of us na mag-ingat talaga kasi anything can happen anytime,” he said.

In choosing understanding over confrontation, Matteo offered a powerful reminder that strength is not always shown through legal battles or public outrage—but through grace, humility, and faith.

For him, the incident became not a story of damage, but of gratitude: gratitude for spared lives, for healing colleagues, and for the chance to move forward with compassion.
