The Quezon City Police District confirmed the arrest of a 23-year-old robbery suspect in a follow-up operation at an establishment in Barangay Sacred Heart on Monday afternoon.
Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio announced that alias “Steve,” a resident of nearby Barangay Pasong Putik, was apprehended at 8 p.m. on Sunday.
According to the victim, they were heading to the building around 6:30 p.m. when a CCTV notification from the kitchen area showed the suspect attempting to steal an LPG Gasul tank.
Officers from the Kamuning Police Station responded to the scene after being alerted by barangay officials, but the suspect tried to flee through neighboring rooftops before falling and being confronted by authorities.
Despite attempting to intimidate officers with an airsoft gun, Steve was successfully apprehended. He will face charges of Attempted Theft, Malicious Mischief, and Grave Threats at the Quezon City Prosecutor's Office.
