Actor-entrepreneur Matteo Guidicelli said no one was seriously injured after a vehicle crashed into the al fresco area of his family’s restaurant, Da Gianni Cucina Italiana, in Muntinlupa City on 8 February.

In a Facebook post, Guidicelli said the incident occurred at around 4 p.m., noting that the outdoor dining area was already clear of customers at the time. He said guests had left at about 1:30 p.m., preventing possible injuries.

Two staff members who were inside the restaurant near the pizza oven were brought to a hospital for medical evaluation. Guidicelli later confirmed that both workers did not sustain serious injuries and are receiving proper care.

Photos circulating online showed damage to the exterior portion of the establishment. As a precaution, the restaurant temporarily closed its al fresco area to allow for safety inspections and repairs, while indoor dining operations continue.

Guidicelli also urged the public to remain vigilant and aware of their surroundings, stressing the importance of preparedness during unexpected incidents.

Supporters and fellow personalities expressed relief that no customers were harmed and praised the restaurant’s swift response. Some suggested installing additional safety barriers in the outdoor area.

Da Gianni Cucina Italiana opened in 2018 and was named after Guidicelli’s late grandfather from northern Italy. The actor previously opened Trattoria de Gianni in Cebu in 2016, also inspired by his family’s Italian heritage.
