BoC bolsters Aussie ties to combat smuggling

The Bureau of Customs (BoC) met with the Australian Border Force this week to strengthen institutional cooperation on border management and international enforcement.

Deputy commissioner Romeo Allan Rosales of the BoC Intelligence Group led the discussions, stressing the need for enhanced intelligence exchanges and closer operational coordination.

Both agencies acknowledged that enduring partnerships are necessary to address evolving illicit activities that threaten public safety, legitimate commerce, and government revenue.

Officials said the engagement is part of the bureau’s broader strategy to increase institutional readiness by working with global security counterparts.
