QUEZON CITY — The Quezon City Police District (QCPD) recorded a notable decrease in eight major crimes in the city in January, according to a report released Saturday morning by Police Brig. Gen. Randy Glenn Silvio.
In the report, the Quezon City Police District said the figures were based on cases of murder, homicide, physical injury, rape, robbery, theft, car theft, and motorcycle theft, comparing data from the same period in 2025 and 2026.
Silvio noted that the police logged a total of 129 incidents across the eight crime categories from January 1 to 31, marking a decline of 71 cases from the same period last year, when 200 incidents were recorded.
He added that police response and case resolution—referred to as Crime Solution Efficiency (CSE)—also improved, reaching 80.45 percent.
“I am pleased to share these accomplishments with our QCitizens. Through our continuous anti-criminality efforts, such as Warrant Day operations and District Oplan Bulabog/Galugad, and with the strong cooperation of the public, we assure round-the-clock safety in Quezon City,” Silvio said in the report.
The QCPD chief assured residents that the city’s police force would continue to strictly enforce the law to ensure public safety and the delivery of quality public service.
In a more detailed breakdown, Silvio said theft registered the biggest decline, with cases dropping from 102 to 68, while incidents of motorcycle theft fell by 56 percent.
