Perpetual slams EAC

Shaila Omipon delivered, leading University of Perpetual Help System Dalta to a 28-26, 25-15, 26-24 victory over Emilio Aguinaldo College in Season 101 National Collegiate Athletic Association women’s volleyball tournament on Saturday at San Andres Gym in Manila.

Omipon logged 17 kills and seven digs to lead the Lady Altas to remain perfect with their fifth straight win in one hour and 34 minutes of action.

Cyrille Almeniana, on the other hand, made crucial contributions, posting13 attacks and two blocks for a 16-point effort while setter Fianne Ariola recorded 16 excellent sets in 98 attempts for the Lady Altas, who are looking to book a return trip to the Final Four. Libero Joanna Denise Lozano registered 20 digs and nine receptions. 

“It was a hard-earned sweep, and I commend our girls for how they overcame EAC,” Perpetual head coach Sandy Rieta said.

“But we should not get complacent, or we will not be able to sustain this winning streak.”
