The Armed Forces of the Philippines on Thursday formally welcomed new senior officers leading its civil-military operations and education and training arms during a joint change of chief of office ceremony held on 4 February.
The ceremony was presided over by AFP Deputy Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Rommel P. Roldan of the Philippine Air Force and marked the turnover of leadership for the Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, J7, and the Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Training, J8.
Outgoing Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations Lt. Gen. Arvin R. Lagamon of the Philippine Army, who currently serves as commander of the Civil-Military Operations Command, was honored for his service and contributions. Also recognized was Brig. Gen. Ronaldo V. Juan of the Philippine Navy (Marine Corps), the outgoing acting Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Training.
Major Gen. Patricio Ruben P. Amata of the Philippine Army officially assumed office as Deputy Chief of Staff for Civil-Military Operations, J7. A member of the Philippine Military Academy “Maalab” Class of 1993, Amata previously served as assistant division commander of the 6th Infantry “Kampilan” Division.
Meanwhile, Major Gen. Arsenio D.C. Sadural of the Philippine Army, also a member of PMA “Maalab” Class of 1993, took over as Deputy Chief of Staff for Education and Training, J8. Before his designation, Sadural served as assistant division commander of the 8th Infantry “Stormtroopers” Division.
The AFP said the newly designated officers are expected to further strengthen civil-military engagement and enhance education and training programs, reinforcing the military’s commitment to professionalism, service, and national defense.
