The Armed Forces of the Philippines on Wednesday reiterated its commitment to remain non-partisan and professional amid impeachment complaints filed against President Ferdinand Marcos Jr..
AFP spokesperson Col. Francel Margareth Padilla said the military will not take part in political issues and will continue to focus on its constitutional mandate.
“The AFP remains non-partisan. We remain a professional organization. Tuloy lang tayo sa ating mandato,” Padilla said.
“Sa ganyang usapin, hindi kami sumasali sa usaping politika. We leave this to involved agencies to address. At this point in time, we are trusting our democratic process to take its due course,” she added.
Padilla stressed that the AFP’s role remains anchored on safeguarding national security and upholding the Constitution, regardless of political developments.
