After months of speculation, fans of the DonBelle tandem finally have reason to celebrate as Donny Pangilinan and Belle Mariano confirmed they are reuniting for a new film set for release this year.

The project, which has been kept under wraps, marks the pair’s return to the big screen following a period in which both stars focused on personal growth and solo projects.

“We’ve been keeping this from a lot of people for a very long time,” Pangilinan said.
“It’s been in the works for quite some time. Me and Belle have spent some time working with ourselves and doing our own stuff.”

A reunion years in the making

Pangilinan said the film represents a milestone in their journey as performers, noting that the timing feels right after years of working together and then growing separately.

“We’ve been working together for some time, so I think this specific project is gonna be very special for me, for the both of us,” he said.
“I just can’t wait to show the people what we have.”

An unexpected comeback

Mariano described the project as an “unexpected” return that even surprised her.

“It really feels like a comeback, right?” she said.
“We’re really excited, and the story that was told to us was really unexpected—that’s all I can say.”

She hinted that audiences will see a more mature version of the DonBelle pairing, shaped by experience and deeper emotional range.

A more grown-up DonBelle

Asked what fans should expect, Pangilinan said the film will showcase a different side of both actors.

“For sure, they’re going to see a mature side for the both of us,” he said.

Both confirmed that the project pushed them beyond familiar territory, agreeing that it took them out of their comfort zones.

From teen romance to evolving chemistry

Pangilinan and Mariano first rose to fame through hit series such as He’s Into Her and Can’t Buy Me Love, later transitioning to films including Love Is Color Blind and An Inconvenient Love. Their projects helped establish them as one of the most bankable love teams of their generation.

In recent years, both pursued individual work that allowed them to grow creatively.

“Kailangan din naming hanapin muna ang sarili namin,” Pangilinan implied, adding that the time apart helped them return as more complete artists.

Mariano said working with Pangilinan again feels familiar but renewed.

“Parang bumabalik ka sa isang lugar na mahalaga sa’yo, pero mas handa ka na ngayon,” she said.

A gift to fans

While details such as the film’s title and release date remain undisclosed, both stars assured fans that the project is meant as a thank-you to long-time supporters.

“Para ito sa lahat ng sumuporta sa amin mula noon hanggang ngayon,” Mariano said.
“Gusto naming ipakita na sulit ang pagtitiwala nila.”

Pangilinan echoed the sentiment.

“This project is for the people who never left us,” he said.
“Sana maramdaman nila kung gaano namin ito pinaghirapan.”
