SB19 turns monumental in 'Simula At Wakas: Kickoff Concert Album'

SB19 has transformed a career-defining live spectacle into a musical keepsake with the release of Simula At Wakas: Kickoff Concert Album, a live record drawn from their historic two-night takeover of the Philippine Arena in Bulacan on 31 May and 1 June 2025.

Spanning 19 tracks, the album freezes a landmark moment for P-Pop, capturing the scale, intensity and confidence of a group stepping fully into its global stature.

The live album was shaped by the technical precision of Radkidz, who handled mixing and mastering, while Jem Florendo reimagined the arrangements for the concert stage. The track list pulls from across SB19’s evolving catalog, blending material from Simula At Wakas released in 2025, Pagtatag! from 2023, and Pagsibol from 2021, along with a concert-exclusive take on the beloved single “Moonlight.” This version of “Moonlight,” originally produced with Ian Asher and Terry Zhong, sheds its glossy electronic edge in favor of a stripped-down approach that lets the group’s harmonies and emotional delivery take control, offering listeners a closer, more vulnerable experience.

According to the group, this live rendition of “Moonlight” stands out as one of the most meaningful moments on the album, born from a deliberate choice to ease back on production and trust the raw power of their voices, resulting in something they describe as more sincere and deeply human. That same philosophy runs throughout the record, which was captured during the opening leg of the Simula At Wakas world tour, a journey that would later stretch across more than 20 dates in the United States, Canada, Taiwan, Japan, Singapore, Hong Kong, the Middle East, Australia and beyond.

For SB19, the album is less about perfection and more about presence, a reflection of who they are at this point in their artistic and personal growth. They describe the performances as intentional yet open, shaped by the energy of the crowd and the weight of the moment, with every note carrying years of discipline, sacrifice, and belief. The full concert experience unfolds through live versions of “What?” “Mana,” “Gento,” “Moonlight,” “I Want You,” “WYAT,” “Dungka!,” “Bazinga,” “8TONBALL,” “Crimzone,” “Nyebe,” “Time,” “Ilaw,” “Quit,” “Mapa,” “Shooting for the Stars,” “Freedom,” “SLMT” and “Dam,” all presented as they were performed during the tour kickoff.

Alongside the album’s release, SB19 also revealed the final chapter of this era with Wakas At Simula: The Trilogy Concert Finale, set to take place on 18 April at the SMDC Festival Grounds.
