PMA honors retiring military, police generals

The Philippine Military Academy (PMA) held traditional military honors on 31 January 2026 at Fort General Gregorio del Pilar in Baguio City for senior officers set to retire from service.

According to the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP), the ceremony recognized officers from the AFP and the Philippine National Police who are nearing compulsory retirement after decades of service.

Leading the honorees was AFP Vice Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Jimmy D. Larida PN(M), who is due for compulsory retirement on 12 March 2026.

The following officers were also rendered honors during the ceremony:

  • Lt. Gen. Augustine S. Malinit PAF, Inspector General, AFP

  • Maj. Gen. Fabian M. Pedregosa PAF, Commander, Air Defense Command, PAF, and Commander, Strategic Command, AFP

  • Maj. Gen. Dennis G. Estrella PAF, Commander, Air Logistics Command, PAF

  • Police Maj. Gen. Westrimundo D. Obinque, Director, Directorate for Comptrollership, Philippine National Police

  • Brig. Gen. Felix Ronnie B. Babac PA, Assistant Division Commander, 1st Infantry Division, Philippine Army

  • Brig. Gen. Charlemagne F. Batayola Jr. PA, Assistant Division Commander, Armor Division, Philippine Army

  • Brig. Gen. George P. Cabreros PA, Commander, AFP Procurement Service

  • Brig. Gen. Ismael P. Mandanas Jr. PA, Assistant Deputy Chief of Staff for Operations, AJ3, AFP

  • Brig. Gen. Rocky J. Binag PAF, Commander, 5th Fighter Wing, Philippine Air Force

AFP Chief of Staff Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. attended the event, which was held as part of PMA’s customary rites for retiring senior officers.
