Philippine theme park Enchanted Kingdom and two other Filipino companies were recognized at the ASEAN Tourism Association Excellence Awards 2026, held as part of the 45th ASEAN Tourism Forum in Cebu.

Now on its 30th year, Enchanted Kingdom was named Best ASEAN New Tourism Attraction for its flying theater experience, AGILA The EKsperience: SARIBUHAY, during the awards ceremony held on 27 January at JPark Island Resorts and Waterpark in Mactan.

The award was received by EK chairman and president Cesar Mario O. Mamon and chief operating officer Dr. Cynthia R. Mamon at the 35th ASEANTA Excellence Awards, which honored “creativity, innovation, and dedication that drive the tourism industry forward” across Southeast Asia.

“We are deeply honored and humbled to represent Filipino excellence in tourism and entertainment in this prestigious platform in the ASEAN community. This award fuels our commitment to continuously provide magical experiences like AGILA The EKsperience: SARIBUHAY that also contributes towards our shared mission of sustainable tourism,” Dr. Mamon said.

AGILA The EKsperience: SARIBUHAY is the first and only flying theater in the Philippines and forms part of Enchanted Kingdom’s education program. Since its launch in 2016, the attraction has aimed to promote educational tourism and national pride by highlighting the country’s natural landscapes.

The flying theater was relaunched in October as part of EK’s 30th anniversary celebration, with enhanced visuals and thematic elements that emphasize environmental conservation. The updated experience now includes an underwater journey showcasing local marine ecosystems and endangered wildlife.

Two other Filipino companies were also recognized during the ceremony. Muntinlupa-based destination management agency Shroff Travel won Best ASEAN Travel Article, while SMX Convention Center was named Best ASEAN Convention Centre.

Shroff Travel was represented by its chief executive officer Arjun Shroff, while Walid Wafik, senior vice president for operations of SM Hotels and Conventions Corp., accepted the award on behalf of SMX Convention Center.

Enchanted Kingdom is open to guests from Wednesday to Sunday, 11 a.m. to 8 p.m., with park schedules subject to change.
