The Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) has conferred new ranks on six newly promoted generals and senior officers during a ceremonial donning of ranks held over the weekend at Camp Aguinaldo.

AFP Chief of Staff Romeo S. Brawner Jr. led the ceremony, promoting the officers headed by Lt. Gen. Adonis Ariel G. Orio, commander of the Eastern Mindanao Command (EASTMINCOM).

Also promoted were Maj. Gen. Patricio Ruben P. Amata, deputy chief of staff for Civil-Military Operations (J7); Maj. Gen. Arsenio D.C. Sadural, deputy chief of staff for Education and Training (J8); Maj. Gen. Rosendo C. Abad Jr., commander of the Joint Special Operations Command; Brig. Gen. Dexter A. Macasaet, assistant deputy chief of staff for Logistics (AJ4); and Brig. Gen. Joey T. Fontiveros, commander of the AFP Cyber Command.

“You assume your role with complete confidence that you will continue to strengthen peace and security within your areas of responsibility. There is no turning back, only the path forward. The AFP believes in you—your character and your commitment to lead,” Brawner told the newly promoted officers, emphasizing the responsibilities that come with higher rank.

The promotions, according to Brawner, “reflects the AFP’s continuing efforts to develop capable, mission-driven leaders dedicated to safeguarding national security and advancing peace and stability across the country.”
