DAILY TRIBUNE legal counsel and columnist Dean Nilo T. Divina was honored last 28 January as “the best-selling law book author of all time” by legal publisher CentralBooks.
The award, said CentralBooks, recognizes Dean Nilo’s contributions to legal education and publishing. A long-time author and Bar review lecturer, Divina serves as dean of the University of Santo Tomas (UST) Faculty of Civil Law.
CentralBooks also conferred an award to Dean Nilo’s 2025 Divina Compendious Bar Review Series by naming it as the best-selling law book series of all time.
According to CentralBooks, the awards are based on sustained demand and sales performance of Divina’s law books, which are used as readings by Bar examinees and law students nationwide.
The Bar review institution that Divina founded 2011, Magnificus Juris, said the recognitions reflect the reach of its programs and review materials, which aim to provide accessible and affordable Bar review education all over the land.
Only a day after the honor, Dean Nilo’s DivinaLaw firm posted about earning another Anvil at the recently held 61st Annual Anvil Awards, prevailing in the category Public Relations Programs — Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) / Good Governance.
The honor was conferred for Dulog Legal: Justice within Reach, DivinaLaw’s flagship pro bono initiative, which won in its category after being cited as “an ongoing project that integrates social responsibility to enhance a company’s specific services.”
Launched in 2022, Dulog Legal provides free legal assistance to underserved sectors through legal aid clinics in correctional facilities, partnerships with local chapters of the Integrated Bar of the Philippines and outreach initiatives for Filipino communities overseas.
Presented by the Public Relations Society of the Philippines, the Anvil Awards recognize outstanding programs and initiatives that uphold excellence, integrity and effectiveness in the practice of public relations across various sectors.
