BAGUIO CITY — Baguio City Acting Mayor Faustino Olowan said all City Government departments are ready for the opening parade of the 31st Baguio Flower Festival, famously known as "Panagbenga" or Season of Bloom, on Sunday, 1 February 2026.

Olowan said the Baguio Police and other concerned agencies will hold a coordination meeting the day before the opening to ensure safety and security during the parade.

The City Government will also close major roads in the Central Business District, particularly along the parade route, and Olowan appealed for patience from residents for the temporary inconvenience.

The city is coordinating with barangay local government units (LGUs) to use barangay roads as alternate routes to ease anticipated heavy traffic.

The acting mayor urged both residents and visitors watching the parade to be responsible with their garbage, suggesting they bring it back to their homes or accommodations. While personnel from the City General Services Office will be present, Olowan said everyone should participate in keeping the city clean.

For those who cannot go to the parade area, Olowan said the event will also be broadcast live on social media and other outlets.
