A storied Spanish spirits house is officially toasting its arrival in the Philippines, bringing with it a brandy crafted for modern palates and easygoing moments. Through a new distribution partnership with Tanduay, Spain’s Torres makes its local debut—led by the introduction of Torres 5 Light, alongside select labels from its international portfolio.

For Tanduay, the collaboration signals a shared ambition to broaden choices for Filipino drinkers. “The arrival of Torres in the Philippines marks the coming of two great houses that are united by a shared commitment to excellence and growth. This partnership reflects our vision to offer Filipino consumers world-class spirits,” said Lucio Tan III, President and CEO of Tanduay.

From the Torres side, the focus is on welcoming the Philippines into a legacy centuries in the making. “We are proud to bring the rich heritage of Spanish brandy to the Philippines. With Tanduay as our distributor, we are confident that Torres products will reach Filipino consumers who appreciate exceptional spirits with authentic Spanish tradition,” shared Christian Visalli, Torres Spirits Global Managing Director.

A Spanish classic

Headlining the rollout is Torres 5 Light, a brandy designed to be both refined and relaxed. Made from quality grapes and matured via the traditional Solera system in oak barrels, it offers a lighter, more approachable expression—one that slips easily into local drinking rituals without losing its premium edge.

Served best over ice, Torres 5 Light reveals a clear medium-gold hue and gentle aromas of grape, dried fruit, and vanilla. On the palate, it’s smooth and subtly sweet, with notes of prune, grape, and vanilla. Bottled at 25% ABV, the profile balances heritage craftsmanship with everyday enjoyment.

From Penedès to the Philippines

The Torres story traces back to vineyards cultivated by the family in Penedès, Spain as early as the 16th century. The modern enterprise took shape in 1870 with the founding of Casa Torres, while its brandy tradition began in 1928 when oak aging was introduced to elevate spirits distilled from select white wines of the region.

Now available nationwide, Torres 5 Light—and other premium offerings in the lineup—extends that history to Filipino consumers, inviting both curious newcomers and seasoned enthusiasts to discover a Spanish brandy shaped by time, tradition, and a lighter, contemporary touch. ?
