The Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD) on Wednesday said around 5,000 individuals are expected to benefit from a new housing modality under President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.’s Expanded Pambansang Pabahay para sa Pilipino (4PH) Program.

DHSUD Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling has directed the Social Housing Finance Corporation (SHFC) to revive and complete stalled urban housing projects as part of the program’s expanded implementation.

As an initial step, SHFC identified three stalled vertical housing projects in Caloocan City that will be pursued and improved under the Expanded 4PH.

These projects include the Alyansang Mamamayan ng Caloocan Housing Cooperative and Hopeville Phase 2 Homeowners Association Inc. in Barangay Bagumbong, as well as the Genesis Ville Homeowners Association Inc. in Barangay Camarin.

The projects were originally approved during the administration of former president Benigno Aquino III and were intended to benefit 1,422 families, mostly informal settler families.

The three developments, which form the first batch of vertical housing projects to be revived under the Expanded 4PH, consist of 35 low-rise buildings that were not fully completed. SHFC said the sites will be improved, including the addition of open spaces and facilities.
