Canon Philippines brought together photographers and members of the media at Revel at the Palace in Bonifacio Global City to announce the return of its Photomarathon on 18 April.
After a seven-year hiatus, the annual photography event is making a comeback, with a key change this year: non-Canon users are now allowed to join for the first time, opening the competition to a broader creative community.
Participants may compete in three main categories: Open, Video, and Photo, with the Photo category reserved for Canon users. Two additional categories are also available for media practitioners and Canon employees.
Registration is free and can be completed through the Canon PH Delightful app.
Winners across the various categories will receive Canon cameras, including the EOS R8, R50V, PowerShot V1, and the R6 Mark III.
The launch event also featured a mini photo marathon, where attendees captured images based on the theme “Bagong Pag-asa,” showcasing the role of photography in expressing hope and creativity.
Canon said the Photomarathon continues to celebrate photography as a medium of expression, innovation, and community, positioning the event as a platform for both seasoned professionals and emerging creatives.
