International vocal powerhouse Josh Groban is heading back to Manila for a Valentine’s week spectacle, unveiling a one-night concert that brings together three of music’s most celebrated voices.
The Tony, Emmy, and five-time Grammy Award nominee will stage his GEMS World Tour on 18 February at the SM Mall of Asia Arena, with Filipino icons Regine Velasquez and Martin Nievera joining him as special guests.
Groban, whose global record sales exceed 35 million, has built a career on emotionally charged ballads and crossover anthems that fuse classical influence with pop sensibility. Audiences can expect a setlist that spans signature songs such as “You Raise Me Up,” “To Where You Are,” “February Song,” and “The Prayer,” alongside cinematic favorites including “Believe” and “Evermore.” The Manila stop will feature orchestral and choral arrangements, underscoring the grandeur that has made his concerts sell out across continents.
Sharing the stage with Groban are two of the Philippines’ most revered performers. Velasquez, widely regarded as one of the country’s best-selling artists, brings a catalog of enduring hits including “Dadalhin,” “Pangako” and “On The Wings of Love,” backed by decades of accolades. Joining him is Martin Nievera, the hitmaker and television host behind classics like “Be My Lady,” “Say That You Love Me” and “You Are My Song.” Nievera, who previously interviewed Groban, now steps into a different role — performing alongside him in what is being billed as a rare and historic collaboration.
As he prepares to return to the Philippines after a seven-year absence, Groban spoke warmly about his bond with local fans, saying the country holds “a very special place in my heart.” He added, “Outside of America, the Philippines is one that got to truly accept my music. Filipinos have understood me and my music for the entirety of my career.”
For the singer, the upcoming concert is more than a tour stop — it is a tribute to a long-standing connection. “Every time I have the opportunity to perform for my fans in the Philippines, it is a night of many things — most of which is gratitude — gratitude that I feel from my fans there since album one, day one,” he shared. “So whenever I come to the Philippines, whenever I get to play a concert there, I celebrate your country’s love of music.”
Tickets for the Manila concert are now available through SMTickets.com and SM Ticket outlets nationwide. Fans can also opt for limited VIP Soundcheck Experience and VIP Superfun Package options that include exclusive access with Josh Groban.
