Thirteen fishermen were rescued by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) after their fishing banca collided with an LPG tanker in the vicinity waters of Barangay Lamao in Limay, Bataan, on 23 January 2026.
According to the PCG, it received information regarding a collision involving LPGC SL Bisugo and FBca Jun-Jun, a fishing banca carrying 13 crew members.
In response, the Coast Guard Station Bataan, in coordination with the Special Operations Unit (SOU) Bataan and Limay Bantay Dagat, conducted search and rescue operations.
Upon arrival at the scene, Coast Guard search and rescue personnel assisted in the safe transfer of the 13 fishermen to the shoreline of Barangay Lamao.
The rescued fishermen were brought to the Barangay Lamao Rural Health Unit for medical evaluation, where all were assessed to be in good physical condition.
They were later temporarily accommodated at Coast Guard Sub-Station Limay while awaiting their respective relatives.
