BAGUIO CITY — While some may say it’s cool, many residents here in Baguio say otherwise, as they struggle to wake up and keep themselves warm amid the biting cold.
Residents and visitors felt the coldest air early morning on 22 January 2026. The Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) recorded a chilling 11 degrees Celsius as of 5 a.m.
This is the coldest temperature recorded so far in Baguio City this year, dropping from 13.2°C on 21 January 2026.
Health authorities continue to remind the public to keep themselves warm to avoid illnesses associated with cold weather.
Cool temperatures in Baguio City usually begin in December and last until February or early March. The coldest temperature ever recorded in the city was 6.3°C on 18 December 1961.
