More Quadruple A contractors are lining up to join Pambansang Pabahay Para sa Pilipino (4PH) program — another clear indication the private sector is throwing its support behind the government’s flagship housing push led by the Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development (DHSUD).
A Quadruple A license is the highest classification granted by the Philippine Contractors Accreditation Board (PCAB), reserved for construction firms that are financially strong, technically capable, and well established.
Two such firms — Thaison Builders and Data Land Inc. — are now in the final discussions with the DHSUD and the Pag-IBIG Fund to take on projects under the Expanded 4PH program.
Human Settlements Secretary Jose Ramon Aliling welcomed their interest, saying it gives a major boost to the nationwide rollout of the government’s housing initiative.
Last month, Megawide Construction Corporation, another Quadruple A contractor, signed a memorandum of agreement with Pag-IBIG Fund to initially build 7,000 socialized housing units across the country under the program.
“The entry of highly capable and respected contractors into the Expanded 4PH is clear proof of the growing and strengthening support of the private sector for President Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr.’s program,” Aliling said.
“In the construction industry, credibility is the number one consideration — for the project owner, the builder, and the buyer. That’s why this development is a big deal as we continue pushing for decent, safer, and more affordable housing for more Filipino families,” he added.
Since Aliling took over at DHSUD, the agency has recalibrated the housing program, introducing more options and modalities to widen beneficiary coverage and give homebuyers more choices.
The housing chief also reiterated his call for stronger private sector participation, noting the DHSUD has streamlined the licensing process and maintained regular dialogues to better align the public and private sector efforts.
“Private developers play a crucial role in the Expanded 4PH. They are at the forefront of producing socialized housing, and DHSUD is here to support them through faster and more transparent services,” Aliling said.
“The participation of trusted Quadruple A private sector developers is a positive signal — it shows they believe in and trust the national government’s flagship housing program,” he added.
