Makati Mayor Nancy Binay announced Wednesday that the city has extended the deadlines for business permit assessments and tax payments to accommodate business owners and residents.
The City Council approved City Ordinance No. 2026-002, moving the deadline for business permit assessments from 20 January to 26 January. Under the new schedule, taxpayers can complete assessments during this period without incurring penalties.
“We recognize that many of our business owners and property taxpayers are still completing their requirements,” Binay said. “This extension gives them reasonable time to comply without penalties.”
The city also moved the deadline for the payment of business licenses to 2 February. Payments are accepted at City Hall from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Additionally, real property taxpayers have until 2 February to avail themselves of a 10 percent discount on their annual payments.
Binay said the extension is intended to support the local business community while ensuring the city maintains the revenue necessary to fund public services.
All other existing regulations and penalties remains in effect for those who miss the new deadlines.
