The Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Central Luzon joined the 13th Uhay Festival Grand Parade in the Science City of Muñoz on 20 January 2026, showcasing its Mobile Command and Control Vehicle (MOCCOV) and continuous solar power-charging electric utility vehicles.

The DOST Provincial Science and Technology Office Nueva Ecija highlighted the agency’s flagship programs and services during the event, with emphasis on the Community Empowerment through Science and Technology (CEST) Program.

Provincial Director Leidi Mel B. Sicat led the PSTO Nueva Ecija contingent in parading the MOCCOV, which was manned by personnel from the Nueva Ecija Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office.

Also featured was the continuous solar power-charging electric utility vehicle, an eco-friendly transport solution developed by Tarlac State University in partnership with DOST. The vehicles were designed to promote energy efficiency, with several units produced for campus use and eventual turnover.

DOST Central Luzon said the solar-powered electric utility vehicles reflect TSU’s innovation in sustainable transport and align with national energy conservation goals, including those of the Department of Energy. The project began in 2021, with vehicles completed by late 2022.

The parade also featured interactive exhibits from DOST-Central Luzon’s Regional Mobile Science Centrum, including “Ring Bubbles” and “Pedal Power.”

DOST Central Luzon said its participation underscores its commitment to bringing science, technology, and innovation closer to the public, ensuring that “Agham na Ramdam” is felt by communities across the region.
