Trackmania races into Esports World Cup

Precision racing esport Trackmania is officially joining the Esports World Cup after the Esports World Cup Foundation announced a multi-year partnership with Ubisoft Nadeo.

The addition completes the Esports World Cup’s 24-game lineup for 2026 and introduces a racing esport defined by precision, consistency, and mechanical skill. Trackmania races are decided by fractions of a second, with all competitors using the same car and tracks — eliminating randomness and upgrades from the equation.

“Trackmania has always been one of gaming’s purest level playing fields: same car, same track, no RNG — it is all about precision, memory and nerve,” said Fabian Scheuermann, chief games officer of the Esports World Cup Foundation. “Giving it a truly global esports stage with a world-class production and a significant prize pool is a watershed for a community that’s spent more than two decades shaving thousands off community-built tracks.”

Scheuermann said the partnership will allow players from grassroots to professional levels to compete on a global stage, turning split-second time differences into a spectacle accessible to both players and fans.

For Ubisoft Nadeo, the move marks a major milestone for the long-running racing title.

“Being selected for the EWC, the world’s largest esports initiative, marks a major milestone for Trackmania,” said Florent Castelnerac, managing director of Ubisoft Nadeo. “The game was conceived as the purest expression of solo competition, where players compete against the moment itself rather than direct opponents.”

Trackmania’s Esports World Cup debut in 2026 will feature 32 players competing for a $500,000 prize pool. The tournament will begin with group stages using a double-elimination format in four-player lobbies, before advancing to single-elimination playoffs to crown a champion in Riyadh.

Qualification will include an open in-game pathway, allowing players worldwide to earn a direct spot in Riyadh. Details of the qualification system will be announced alongside a game update on 26 January.

With Trackmania’s inclusion, the Esports World Cup Foundation confirmed its full 2026 lineup, spanning shooters, MOBAs, fighting games, sports titles, and strategy games. The event will again award points across multiple titles to determine the overall Esports World Cup Club Champion.

The Esports World Cup 2026 is set to return to Riyadh this summer, bringing together top players, teams and clubs for what organizers describe as the largest celebration of esports to date.
