University of Perpetual Help System Dalta banked on Sherrie Acosta to pull off a 25-13, 25-24 win over La Salle Greenhills (LSGH) in the National Collegiate Athletic Association Season 101 volleyball fiesta girls’ division on Tuesday at the Arellano University gym in Pasay City.
Acosta, a Grade 11 opposite hitter, posted 12 points to emerge as the top scorer of the Junior Lady Altas, who also drew solid numbers from middle blocker Isabel Baser, Ram Panganiban and Elizha Sildo.
Baser chipped in three attacks, two blocks and two aces for seven points while Panganiban and Sildo had five and four points, respectively.
Perpetual coach Sandy Rieta admitted that they are still far from their deadly form, but they are working doubly hard to regain their rhythm.
“We are still adjusting, we still have a lot to work on as the season has just started,” said Rieta, whose wards sealed the two-set win in just 42 minutes of play.
Amara Chan and Franchezka Borlain with four points each for LSGH, which is donning the colors of College of Saint Benilde.
Also emerging victorious was reigning champion Arellano, which defeated Jose Rizal University, 25-10, 25-20, in the other match.
Catherine Chu led the way with 14 points built on 11 attacks and three aces.
