A Most Wanted Person (MWP) was injured after allegedly stabbing a police officer during the service of a warrant of arrest in Barangay Baita, Bocaue, on 19 January 2026.
According to Bocaue Municipal Police Station chief Police Lt. Col. Gilbert Diaz, the suspect was identified only as alias “Just,” a 31-year-old resident of Northville 5, Bocaue.
Police said the suspect was wanted for theft, with a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Theresa Genevieve N. Co of the Regional Trial Court, Third Judicial Region, Branch 17, Malolos City, Bulacan.
While officers were placing handcuffs on the suspect, he allegedly drew a kitchen knife and stabbed one of the arresting officers in the left cheek. Police said that due to the immediate threat to life, another officer fired his service firearm, hitting the suspect in the right shoulder.
The injured police officer and the suspect were rushed to Joni Villanueva Hospital for immediate medical treatment.
Recovered from the scene were a kitchen knife and a spent bullet shell. Authorities said appropriate charges, including frustrated murder, are being pursued in connection with the incident.
