Melvin Jerusalem appears to be the handpicked foe of Puerto Rican two-belt titleholder Oscar Collazo and not Pedro Taduran.
Based on the statements of Jerusalem, the reigning World Boxing Council titlist, has a strong chance of landing a mega fight with the World Boxing Association and World Boxing Organization ruler.
The three-belt showdown is being targeted for March but another possibility is April, according to Jerusalem himself, who bared that his camp is in talks with Golden Boy Promotions (GBP).
The legendary Oscar De La Hoya holds the promotional rights over the undefeated Collazo.
“We requested that this fight be held in March and not February (when it was offered to us),” Jerusalem said.
Considering himself as the main priority, Jerusalem didn’t take a break during the Christmas season.
“Like Collazo, I didn’t go home for the holidays.”
Also on Collazo’s radar screen is International Boxing Federation ruler Pedro Taduran, who is now in Las Vegas training.
