Italian designer Valentino dies at 93

Italian designer Valentino Garavani, whose luxurious creations dressed some of the world’s most elegant women, including Jackie Kennedy and Audrey Hepburn, has died at 93, Italy’s ANSA news agency reported Monday.

The legendary couturier passed away at his Rome home, ANSA said, citing the Valentino Garavani Foundation and his longtime business and romantic partner, Giancarlo Giammetti. The company did not immediately respond to requests for confirmation.

Valentino, known simply by his first name, dressed global icons from Elizabeth Taylor and Nancy Reagan to Sharon Stone, Julia Roberts and Gwyneth Paltrow. He was famed for his impeccable style, caramel tan, and often seen with his pug dogs at his side.
