PDP-Laban warns public vs unauthorized seminars in Gensan

GENERAL SANTOS CITY — The Partido Demokratiko ng Pilipinas–Laban (PDP-Laban) has issued a firm warning to the public against engaging with groups claiming to represent the party without proper authority, following reports of unauthorized membership seminars and leadership training activities in the city.

In a statement released on Saturday, PDP-Laban Region XII Regional Chairman Atty. Rogelio Garcia clarified that the regional leadership has no connection, involvement, or authorization whatsoever in relation to the reported activities, which are allegedly being conducted under the party’s name.

Garcia emphasized that PDP-Laban maintains clear institutional processes governing official programs, including basic membership seminars and leadership development initiatives. While the party welcomes efforts to expand its membership base and cultivate future leaders, he stressed that such activities must be formally sanctioned and coordinated through recognized party leadership to be considered legitimate.

“The use of the party’s name without authority not only misleads the public but also undermines the integrity of the organization,” Garcia said, underscoring the need for vigilance among prospective members and supporters.

The regional leadership issued the clarification to prevent confusion, protect the public from potential misrepresentation, and reaffirm the institutional credibility of PDP-Laban in Region XII.

Party officials advised individuals interested in joining or participating in PDP-Laban activities to verify information directly with authorized party offices or recognized officials before engaging with any group claiming affiliation.

PDP-Laban reiterated its commitment to transparent, orderly, and credible political organizing, and called on the public to report any unauthorized use of the party’s name to appropriate authorities or party channels.
