Cainta sets up PAO office

Mayor Keith Nieto has requested the Public Attorney's Office (PAO) to open a field office in the municipal hall so residents would not have to travel to another town for free legal assistance.

"Many people are coming to the office requesting free legal assistance. I have nothing to give. I'm just sending them to our legal office so our lawyers can help. The nearest Public Attorney’s Office is in another town," Nieto said.

"I wrote to the PAO to request the establishment of a field office in our municipality. They granted our request, and I immediately had the office set up on the first floor of the GSO [General Services Office Building]," the mayor added.

Four PAO lawyers will be assigned in Cainta.

"While setting up their office, they have already begun accepting cases for those who cannot afford legal expenses," Nieto said.
