Fugitive gambling lord Atong Ang may already be out of the country, according to whistleblower Julie “Dondon” Patidongan, who has been following the missing sabungeros case closely.

In a radio interview on Saturday, Patidongan said he believes Ang—who now has an arrest warrant in connection with the kidnapping with homicide of cockfighting enthusiasts—is abroad.

“I think he’s already in another country,” Patidongan said, adding that Ang is “not an ordinary person.”

“His group is international,” he added.

Patidongan also said Ang might have left the Philippines as early as December. If he is still in the country, Patidongan believes he could be hiding in one of his many exclusive properties.

“If he’s still here, he’s probably in one of the exclusive subdivisions owned by him or by people he trusts,” he said.

“For me, he operates alone and doesn’t hide under generals or anyone else. If he does go into hiding, it’s a secret only he knows,” he added.
