TV5 shows’ ratings plummet after ABS-CBN exodus

In the aftermath of the exodus, most Kapatid shows suffered significant losses in audience share, earning single digit ratings.

Clearly, the mass exodus of Kapamilya shows after cancellation of their content creation contract with TV5 became effective last 2 January, has left a massive void in the Kapatid network’s programming.

In the aftermath of the exodus, most Kapatid shows suffered significant losses in audience share, earning single digit ratings. Their flagship series, Totoy Bato, is the biggest casualty, with one point something in ratings.

This downward trend will continue to gain traction as there were no new shows airing in the Kapatid network. This early, many are already predicting that the new shows starring Andrea Brillantes, Enrique Gil and Derek Ramsay will hardly make its presence felt when they’re finally airing.

The replay movies that took Batang Quiapo’s timeslot failed miserably in ratings, not even when one episode trended when it used a screenshot and made it an art card.

On X, collective comments were against the Kapatid network.

“This is the risk of detaching from a powerhouse brand; without the lead-in from loyal Kapamilya viewers, TV5’s struggle to maintain its own brand identity is laid bare.”

“Going 0. Something na yan soon!! Ok na sana audience ng Totoy Bato nila eh pero waley. Gsto magsolo. Kaya goodluck hahaha.” (The audience of Totoy Bato is okay but it’s nothing. They want to go solo. So, goodluck).

Naku, Panu na sina Blythe nyan? Mukhang diba masusundan yong success ng Senior High at Kadenang Ginto nya.” (What about Blythe? It’s likely that the success of Senior High and Kadenang Ginto will not have a follow up).

BELA Padilla

Bella Padilla returns to primetime

Six years after her last ABS-CBN show, Mea Culpa in 2019, Bela Padilla is all poised to return on  primetime as she joins Gerald Anderson and Richard Gutierrez in an action-drama series.

“This is very new for me, bagong-bagong character. Bagong genre din, first time kong mag action-drama. I think people will also be surprised sa magiging takbo ng kuwento dito and nung character ko dito,” Padilla said in an interview.

Padilla busied herself with a plethora of movie assignments and scriptwriting activities during her six-year hiatus from television.

She welcomes her new character in the series as it is out of her comfort zone and offers her the challenge of doing action scenes.

Dustin Yu wins against Will Ashley over Bianca de Vera

Clearly, former PBB Celebrity Collab housemates Dustin Yu, Bianca de Vera, Will Ashley and Mika Salamanca are vying for online attention as their photos on social media of late conjure romantic  posturing.

Yu and de Vera were reportedly seen together in Thailand, leaving Ashley out of the romantic equation.

But just as when people thought Ashley was already relegated to the sidelines, he was photographed in sweet poses with Salamanca in Hong Kong, making netizens feel they were already a couple.

Clearly, there’s competition between Yu and Ashley over de Vera but it was perceived that the former already won.  A movie is said to be in the offing starring Yu and de Vera only.

But netizens felt Ashley has a clear advantage as he can really act. Between him and Yu, fans say he is the better actor.
