Baling technology workshop

The Department of Environment and Natural Resources, Royal Norwegian Embassy in Manila, Innovation Norway, and experts from baling supplier Orkel will conduct a workshop on compacting landfill waste at the Seda Hotel Vertis North in Quezon City on 15 January.

The workshop will feature the Orkel baling technology that compacts bulk materials into closed, odorless, single-unit packages to reduce total volume by up to 70 percent, save on storage space and enable cost-efficient transport.

The machine also enables cost-efficient transport of reclaimable materials from rivers and oceans to recycling stations, and non-recyclable materials to incinerators to produce heat or electricity.

The technology is suitable for agriculture, industry and waste management applications.
