Taguig permit renewals draw steady turnout

Officials urged business owners to complete their renewals before the 20 January deadline to ensure compliance with 2026 tax requirements.

Business owners in Taguig continued to renew their permits Friday during the seventh day of the city’s 2026 Business One-Stop Shop (BOSS), an initiative aimed at simplifying local licensing and tax payments.

Data from the Business Permits and Licensing Office showed a steady flow of applicants using the city’s three-step system — document submission, payment of taxes and fees, and the immediate release of the 2026 permit.

The renewal period, which began 3 January, runs through 20 January. To accommodate the volume of applicants, centers are operating daily from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m., including weekends.

The city has established two primary physical locations to manage the crowds — the SM Aura Satellite Office in Bonifacio Global City and the Convention Center at the New City Hall Building in Barangay Ususan.

“The flow is orderly and processing is faster this year,” said one representative of a private firm processing a renewal on Friday.

City staff remain on-site at both venues to assist with assessments and payments.

In addition to the physical sites, the city is promoting its digital platform, the Taguig Local Cloud portal, which allows business owners to register and process applications online.

The City Treasurer’s Office is accepting multiple payment methods, including cash, credit and debit cards, mobile wallets such as GCash and Maya, and manager’s checks.
