A 69-year-old man tagged as the second most wanted person in Metro Manila was apprehended in a manhunt operation in Pasig City on Thursday morning, 8 January.
The suspect, identified only by the alias Antonio, is also listed as the top most wanted person of the Eastern Police District and the Pasig City Police Station. He was arrested during a meticulously coordinated operation involving multiple police units.
At around 7:10 a.m., personnel from the Pasig City Police Station, led by its Station Intelligence Section, launched a joint operation with the 94th SAC 9 SA, PNP SAF, Dimasalang Municipal Police Station, Masbate 2nd PMFC, RIU-NCR EDIT, and Pilar Municipal Police Station. The coordinated effort underscored inter-agency cooperation in pursuing high-profile fugitives.
The suspect was arrested by virtue of a warrant of arrest issued by Judge Annielyn Medes-Cabelis of the Pasig City Regional Trial Court Branch 167 for the crime of murder, with no bail recommended.
He is currently detained at the custodial facility of the Pasig City Police Station pending the issuance of a commitment order from the court.
