For Angel Galang, joining the Queen of Quiapo pageant was never just about competition — it was about courage, faith, and finally taking a chance on a long-held dream.
In a Facebook post, Galang reflected on a journey she initially entered simply to experience, only to find herself embraced by a community that made her feel like a winner from the very beginning.
“Sa totoong buhay lang, gusto ko lang talagang ma-experience sumali, pero pinadama sakin ng Quiapo kung ano ang pakiramdam ng manalo,” she shared. “Hanggang ngayon, hindi pa rin ako makapaniwala sa suportang ibinigay niyo sakin.”
The pageant marked Galang’s first time to compete in a large-scale contest—something she said she had long promised herself she would eventually try. Taking that leap made the experience of standing onstage with a crown deeply personal.
“Unang beses kong sumali sa ganito kalaking pageant, isang pangarap na matagal ko nang dala-dala at pinangakuan kong susubukan ko,” she wrote. “At heto ako ngayon. May suot na korona. Pakiramdam ko ako ang nag-title.”
Galang thanked the people who supported her throughout the competition, including her team, drag sisters, fellow candidates, and the judges. She also acknowledged the spiritual foundation that guided her during the pageant.
“Maraming salamat sa aking team, drag sisters and mother, co-candidates, judges, supporters, at kay Poong Nazareno,” she said.
She extended special thanks to her stylists—“Salamat din kay mama @patrick_isorena at daddy @leoalmodal sa aking mga looks”—and to her family, particularly her brother.
“Sa pamilya ko at sa kuya kong si @maxieandreison, salamat sa walang sawang paniniwala.”
Galang concluded her post with optimism and resolve as she embraced her new chapter as 4th Runner Up – Miss Quiapo – Tourism 2026.
“Simula pa lang ito,” she wrote. “Maraming salamat sa inyong lahat.”
More than a title, Galang’s Queen of Quiapo journey became a testament to how faith, community, and self-belief can turn a first attempt into a defining milestone.
