A total of 422 cases of non-communicable diseases (NCDs) were recorded nationwide from 21 December 2025 to 5 January, according to the Department of Health (DOH).

Of the total, 235 were acute stroke patients, 124 were cases of acute coronary syndrome, and 63 involved bronchial asthma.

Most of those who suffered from acute coronary syndrome, bronchial asthma, and acute stroke were 40 years old and above.

The DOH also logged 12 deaths during the period, seven of which were due to brain attacks or acute stroke.

Although the holiday season has ended, the DOH reminded the public to exercise regularly, maintain a proper diet, and practice discipline to reduce the risk of developing NCDs.
