The National Power Corporation (NPC) has tapped a Philippine payment technology company specializing in digital billing and payment collection solutions, Pisopay, to design, develop, and operate a digital billing and payment collection system for Small Power Utilities Group (SPUG) residential consumers.
This was following a recent signing of a memorandum of agreement (MoA) between Pisopay president Ariel Surca and NPC president Jericho Jonas Nograles at the NPC office in Quezon City.
The agreement formalizes the deployment of the NPC e-Bills Payment System, a centralized electronic billing and payment platform designed to modernize NPC’s end-to-end billing lifecycle — from bill generation and presentation to real-time payment posting and reconciliation. The system will be powered by Pisopay’s e-Collect platform, which delivers secure transaction processing and multi-channel payment acceptance.
The platform will enable SPUG residential consumers to digitally access their electricity bills, monitor outstanding balances, track due dates, and complete payments through multiple electronic payment channels anytime and anywhere.
Built for scalability and reliability, the system is expected to improve service accessibility, particularly for customers in missionary and off-grid areas.
Pisopay’s e-Collect platform supports real-time transaction status updates, automated reconciliation, audit-ready reporting, and system monitoring, ensuring operational transparency and efficiency for NPC.
The solution expands available payment options while reducing manual processing and administrative overhead.
By adopting a digital, cashless-ready billing and payment ecosystem, NPC strengthens its digital transformation roadmap and enhances public service delivery through secure, technology-enabled solutions.
The partnership aligns with national priorities on digitalization, financial inclusion, and improved efficiency in government-managed utilities.
The MoA signing marks a key milestone in the rollout of the NPC e-Bills Payment System, establishing a scalable and future-ready digital framework expected to enhance customer experience, improve collection performance, and support the long-term modernization of SPUG residential electricity services.
