President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. on Thursday called on Filipinos to welcome the New Year with discipline, confidence, and a shared commitment to national progress, urging unity, compassion, and collective purpose as the country ushers in 2026.
In his New Year’s message, Marcos encouraged Filipinos to move forward with a stronger sense of responsibility toward one another and a renewed resolve to help build the nation under the vision of Bagong Pilipinas.
“As we step into the unfolding days ahead, may we move forward with a clearer understanding of our role in each other's lives and a renewed commitment to building a future shaped not by circumstance alone, but by the strength of our will and the clarity of our collective purpose,” the President said.
The Chief Executive invited the public to pause and reflect on the lessons of the past year, noting that the New Year offers an opportunity for renewal and hope despite challenges faced.
“The coming of another year is always a moment for reflection and renewal. It gives us the opportunity to look back on the year that has passed—its lessons, challenges, and achievements—and to look ahead with hope and purpose to the possibilities that await us,” he said.
As the nation enters a new chapter, Marcos underscored the importance of personal discipline and collective effort in shaping the country’s future, stressing that national progress goes beyond individual goals.
“As we step into 2026, I therefore call on every Filipino to embrace the year with discipline, confidence, and a shared commitment to our nation's progress. For beyond personal resolutions, the new year calls on us to examine how we live with one another, how we lift one another, and how our choices shape our nation,” he added.
The President reaffirmed the government’s commitment to advancing a more unified and compassionate Bagong Pilipinas, emphasizing that nation-building is grounded in solidarity and moral choices.
“A society thrives when its people choose empathy over indifference, service over self-interest, and hope over despair,” Marcos said.
He assured the public that the government remains steadfast in its pursuit of a Bagong Pilipinas that promotes unity, fosters compassion, and highlights the strengths and resilience of Filipinos.
