VinFast has opened its first dealership in Mindanao, setting up shop at Santa Lucia Mall in the Buhangin District of Davao City through a partnership with HighGear Concepts Inc. The site serves as both a sales outlet and a service hub for customers in the city.
The Vietnam-born battery electric vehicle brand entered the Philippine market in 2024 and has focused its early growth on expanding its dealer footprint.
VinFast has opened 23 showrooms in Manila so far, then began moving into key cities outside Metro Manila as part of its rollout plan.
In Davao, buyers can now view vehicles, ask questions, and process paperwork within the city. This convenience matters in a place where cars are used for long, practical drives rather than short urban trips.
The dealership carries VinFast’s lineup of battery electric vehicles, including the VF 3, VF 5, VF 6, VF 7 and VF 9. The range spans compact models to larger SUVs, giving customers several all-electric choices in one location.
HighGear Concepts Inc. spokesperson Lyndon Ong said the brand’s new-energy vehicles align with Davao City’s push toward sustainable mobility. He described the dealership as an initial step in introducing VinFast’s lineup to local customers.
HighGear will manage after-sales support for VinFast vehicles, supported by its existing service network in Davao City. This aspect often carries more weight than specifications.
Toti Zara, chief executive for VinFast Southeast Asia, said the Davao opening marks the start of the company’s expansion in the region. He said the brand aims to support the city’s mobility shift and make electric vehicles more accessible to customers across Davao and other parts of Mindanao in the coming years.
