President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. has declared special non-working days in eight localities in January, in honor of founding anniversaries and local celebrations across the country.
Malacañang said Proclamation No. 1109 sets 5 January 2026 as a special non-working day in Tagudin, Ilocos Sur, for its 440th Founding Anniversary.
Oroquieta City in Misamis Occidental will mark its 56th Charter Anniversary and 96th anniversary as the provincial capital on 6 January 2026, under Proclamation No. 1110.
In Bauang, La Union, residents will celebrate the town’s 440th Founding Anniversary on 5 January 2026, as declared by Proclamation No. 1114.
Proclamation No. 1115 sets 31 January 2026 as a special non-working day in Lian, Batangas, in observance of its Liberation Day.
Tantangan, South Cotabato, will have a double celebration on 27 January 2026. Proclamation No. 1116 marks the town’s 65th Founding Anniversary and the 16th Kulitangtang Festival as special non-working days.
