Police arrested a 47-year-old man during a buy-bust operation as part of an ongoing crackdown on illegal drugs in San Juan City.

The suspect, identified as alias “Vic,” was apprehended at approximately 9:15 p.m. in Barangay Balong Bato by the San Juan City Police Station’s drug enforcement unit. The suspect is a resident of nearby Barangay San Perfecto.

Authorities reported seizing 16 heat-sealed plastic sachets containing suspected shabu. The drugs weighed approximately 21.65 grams, with an estimated street value of P147,220.

Eastern Police District director Brig. Gen. Aden Lagradante praised the arresting officers for the operation’s success.

“We commend the swift and coordinated efforts of our law enforcement officers which led to the successful arrest of a drug suspect and the recovery of illegal drugs,” Lagradante said.

“It entails a clear demonstration of our unwavering commitment to protecting our communities and dismantling the networks that threaten public safety,” he added.

Lagradante said that the police would “relentlessly pursue” those profiting from the drug trade.

The suspect remains in custody and is expected to face charges for violation of the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
