Santa is on his way to good girls and boys as the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD) once again activates its Santa Tracker this holiday season.
First launched in 1955, the tracker now features AI-powered tools developed in partnership with OpenAI, including an image generator that transforms users’ photos into animated elf characters.
NORAD and U.S. Northern Command Commander Gen. Gregory M. Guillot said Santa typically arrives between 9 p.m. and midnight, reminding children to be in bed because “he will not come if the children are not in bed," the WSAW News reported.
Santa began his journey at the International Date Line in the Pacific Ocean, traveling through New Zealand and Australia before heading across Asia, Africa, and Europe, then crossing the Atlantic to Canada, the United States, Mexico, and Central and South America.
The tracker is available on NORAD’s website and on social media platforms including Facebook, X, Instagram, and YouTube.
As of 5 a.m. Philippine time, Santa was in North Africa, flying over Libya, with over 3.6 million gifts delivered.
