Senator Bong Go highlighted the importance of cooperatives in helping people move forward together during the 9th National Party Congress of the Cooperative National Association of Training Centers for Cooperatives (NATCCO) Partylist, held on Friday, in Davao City.

“Cooperatives are not just about business. They represent the unity of people who share the same dream,” Go said. He stressed that when one succeeds, everyone should be given the chance to rise, recover, and improve their lives.

Go said cooperatives play a crucial role in addressing the challenges faced by small entrepreneurs, particularly limited capital and support. He noted that progress becomes more achievable when people work together and ensure that no one is left behind.

He also underscored the value of hard work in achieving success. “There is a sense of fulfillment when you work hard to build and grow your cooperative or business. Anything that is achieved through hard work feels more rewarding,” he said.

In the Senate, Go has supported measures aimed at strengthening the cooperative sector, including laws that require local government units to appoint cooperative development officers and those that institutionalize October as National Cooperative Month. According to him, these measures are intended to help cooperatives grow and to highlight their contributions to communities across the country.

Go said his backing of these initiatives reflects his continued commitment to strengthening the cooperative movement nationwide.
